Tasker and Phone Notification strings not showing up on watch (but are visible on editor)

I saw a rather similar post back in Feb 8 related to 3.75b403516beta with the same sorts of issues.

Both Phone Notifications and Tasker variables show up fine on the editor watchface, but on the actual watchface, the data is just missing.

Example:
“XXX $ni(0,app)$ - $ni(0,title)$ - $ni(0,text)$ XXX”
shows up correctly on the watchface editor, but on the watch itself, all I see is “XXX - - XXX”

Same with tasker variables:
“YYY $br(tasker,MYVAR)$ YYY”
works on the editor, but is just “YYY YYY” on the actual watch.

Anyone else having this issue?

Samsung Galaxy 5Pro watch.
Samsung S21 Ultra phone
Kustom Watch Pro 3.76b422110
Settings → Watch Settings → Global Sync Mode = Always
Settings → Watch Settings → Data Sync Mode = Always

I fully uninstalled both the watch app and the phone app. I also made sure to clear the data on the phone side.

I reinstalled everything and now I can see the TASKER variables.
I am still having issues with the system notifications showing up on the watch though (they DO show up in the watchface editor fine).
Very odd.
