For the last weeks I’ve had problems with album art sometimes working, sometimes not, using $mi(cover)$. I’ve experienced:
- Albumart working as expected: Current albumart is showing up on widget and in the KWGT editor.
- Albumart being replaced by a white image in widget, but showing the correct album art in the editor.
- Albumart showing as a white square in both widget and editor. See screenshot 1.
- Albumart showing as a white square in widget and editor keeping albumart of a track that was playing earlier and keeping this albumart even when changing to the next song or previous song.
- (After playing a track from Bandcamp, closing it and playing a track from Spotify) Albumart in widget keeps showing the former albumart from Bandcamp in widget, shows playholder missing bitmap image in editor. See screenshots 2 & 3.
KWGT is given special notification access and battery optimisation is disabled. I have gone through other similar posts in the forum, but their solutions haven’t worked consistently.
When I copy the url in Text preview from $mi(cover)$ and opening in Firefox it shows the correct coverart.
Worth testing:
- I have a lot of favorite songs downloaded in Spotify and hence often listen to playlists that change between downloaded and streaming songs.
When experiencing issue 3 and 4, I have tested with Bandcamp, which doesn’t seem to have issues.
From the forums it seems like this is a reccuring issue.
