I pretty much use the same KLWP preset all of the time, but all of a sudden, it’s been acting weird. Now, when I have it open in the editor, everything works as it should and all of the newest updates that I may have made to it are all shown in the KLWP editor. However, when I save it to my home screen (the same way that I’ve always done it), not all of the changes seem to want to carry over with whatever I had saved.
In the above screenshot (I apologize if you’re still offended by my selection of images even though I tried to blur them out as best I could), that one wallpaper thumbnail in the top left corner (image #1), never actually loads, although everything is there in the editor.
I’ve tried force stopping the KLWP app and restarted my phone but it just won’t apply it correctly. Please help!
I have both the smaller thumbnail images and the full size wallpapers on the home screen set as bitmap global variables in the editor.
I thought that any images that were added in that way were stored within the KLWP file itself as a file named using a bunch of random numbers and letters without an extension at the end? Is that what you were asking?
I’ll have to get back to you after I try the test you suggested so I won’t have an answer until then.
I tried doing that test page with a new preset using the same image and I initially had some trouble but I think reducing the size (kb/mb) may have helped.
However, that wasn’t even the only issue it seems. I hadn’t noticed that some of the text and color global variables were also glitching and the changes that I made to them apparently didn’t carry over to the applied preset on my home screen. So it wasn’t just the image that was contributing to the overall depreciation I was witnessing happen on the wallpaper, and it ended up taking several changes (doing only one at a time) to get everything back in working order – which appears to be functioning properly now.
So, I’m not exactly sure if your suggestion was necessary but it gave me the idea to try something else. I really appreciate your assistance, my friend, and I might just have to submit a more detailed report later to let the developer and their users know that it’s probably a bug that can be corrected in the next update.
When a preset gets too heavy, simply saving it isn’t always enough because some elements might only stay in the temporary cache. To truly ‘bake’ everything into the file, you should Export the preset.
If you just save and restart your phone, you might find some images missing because they were never fully written to the internal storage. Also, if your RAM is near its limit, KLWP might skip rendering some bitmaps to prevent a system crash. Keep your images optimized and always export after big changes.
