Dear developer,

It would nice if Kustom presets (KLWP, KWGT, KLCK, and KWCH) are able to access the ID3 metadata of an MP3 audio file.

And, it would also be nice to be able to get the ID3 metadata of the next/previous song.

Any responses would be much appreciated.

Hi! So something like a flow action or an mi() function that will extract audio data from a file? Kustom has limited access to files i am not sure about the use case

Hi Frank,

By being able to read the ID3 metadata of a song file, a Kustom preset can extract at least these song information:

  • Title
  • Artist
  • Album
  • Year
  • Genre
  • Album Artist
  • Album Artwork
  • Composer
  • Lyrics

I get it but how would this be useful? I mean, if you are playing local music you already have a player you can get data from

Well, I would like to be able to display the song’s info in s live wallpaper, especially the lyrics.
