I have a kwgt that I exported from another device. I have put the exported file into the kustom/widget directory on the new device. Then I add a widget to the screen and click on it to setup. I import the widget that I put in the kustom directory, and it looks like it did on the other device. But when I click on it, it shows a blank page and says this container is empty. Then when I look at the filed i saved in the kustom/widgets directory it is now 0 Bytes not the 162 Bytes that it was before I tried to use it.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thanx!!
Hi there,
As far as I know, when you have copied/moved the .kwgt file into the widgets folder under your Kustom installation folder, you don’t need to import from within the KWGT editor.
You can just add a new widget on your homescreen, then select it in your KWGT editor.
The IMPORT process is the process of copying a .kwgt file FROM other folder outside the widgets folder INTO the widgets folder.
Importing a kwgt file that is already in the widgets folder will fail and the file will be overridden with a zero-size file. It is like trying to copy the file to itself.
Rule of Thumb: 2 Ways to Add a New Preset to KWGT | KLWP | KLCK
File Copy (using any file manager apps)
- Manually copy the new preset file, from any folder to the appropriate folder:
- KWGT:
Kustom/widgets - KLWP:
Kustom/wallpapers - KLCK:
Kustom/lockscreens
- KWGT:
- Open the Kustom editor: KWGT | KLWP | KLCK
- The new preset is available to choose from the Library.
Import (using the Import button in the Kustom editor)
- Open Open the Kustom editor: KWGT | KLWP | KLCK
- Tap on the [Import] button
- Choose the new preset file from any folder (outside the Kustom installation folder)
- Kustom editor will start the import process, once done the new preset will be available in the Library.
I hope this would help.
