Music artwork on spotify

$mi(cover)$ on spotify returns a web link (something like https://i.scdn.co/image/ab67616d…) instead of the earlier uri, which was offline. The problem is, that this introduces extra delays to fetch the artwork, and does not work offline.

For apple music, $mi(cover)$ returns a uri only (something like _kuri://bitmap/music/com.apple.android.music/…) which works offline.

Can we have the mi(cover) for spotify brought back to a local offline uri?

Though this looks like a web URL, this seems to work fine for my offline songs on Spotify. I can still see the album art even if my device is offline.

I updated to 3.76, now I can confirm that it still works offline. Could you also help me with a related issue for kwch? I have the background set to be the music cover - for spotify it is a url and for apple music it is a kuri://… something. For spotify, it only shows if the watch is connected to wifi (not even if watch is connected to phone and phone is connected to wifi) and for apple music it does not show at all.

Why did Spotify Premium change $mi(cover)$ to return a web link instead of the offline URI? The new system causes delays and doesn’t work offline, while Apple Music still uses an offline URI. Can we bring back the offline URI for Spotify’s $mi(cover)$?

As Ace stated, it seems to still work online. And even if it doesn’t there’s nothing Kustom apps can do about it, the choice is with the music supplier(s), so you really should be asking this question there…
