KWGT Touch Actions Fail in Nova Launcher Search Bar (Since v3.78?)

Hello,

Since the KWGT update around early April 2025 (likely v3.78), touch actions on my widgets no longer work only when the widget is placed inside the Nova Launcher persistent search bar.

The exact same widget with the same touch actions works perfectly when placed directly on the homescreen grid.

Nova Launcher has not been updated recently, so this seems linked to the KWGT update.

Is this a known issue? Are there any fixes or workarounds planned, other than avoiding the search bar for these widgets? My phone is a Galaxy S23.

Could you share a screenshot of how you’ve set it up with the KWGT widget? That might help clarify exactly where the issue is happening.

What exactly should I ideally take a screenshot of? I placed the widget by long-pressing the Nova Search widget, then selecting ‘Replace’ → KWGT → and then choosing the corresponding widget. In KWGT itself, these are simple rectangles that have been programmed with a touch action (either open app or start activity).
