I’m referring to the vertical calendar that comes with KWGT app itself. It would expect it to work properly. However, it suffers from obvious issues: the calendar elements constantly get out of alignment. All of them shift around from day to day, sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot. Today, February 1, the calendar looked as follows in the morning
As you can see, the month’s name got shifted down and cropped, while the day list suddenly shifted all the way to the left. (See below for the proper appearance.)
Manually starting KWGT app and re-saving this widget always fixes the alignment, making it look correctly, but it doesn’t last. The widget gets distorted in some way every day, i.e. every time it changes.
What is going on with this widget? Is this some sort of an old and “unfixable” bug in KWGT?
It looks like your widget is too narrow for this preset. Try to play around with Scale or use a wider widget. Also, check for other stuff like locking your widget size and removing KWGT from your device’s battery optimization and similar 3rd party apps.
OK, thank you for the suggestion. I will try extending the width of the widget to full width of the screen to see if it makes widget’s layout more stable.
Well, I increased the widget width to the right to cover the whole screen width and also extended it to the top as much as possible. For a while it looked OK, but it is already noticeable that widget elements continue to drift and get out of alignment. This is what it looks like today
The list of days obviously drifted downwards, to the point where the “28 Fri” string at the bottom is beginning to get clipped. It appears that the month name (“FEBRUARY”) is has also drifted a bit to the right from its normal position.
If I open the KWGT app, and re-save this “VerticalMonth” widget, the elements will restore their positions. And then, day by day, they will continue to get out of alignment.
