Is there an easier way or workaround to create a komponent from an existing widget I created (in KWGT) then insert a komponent, cut/paste everything in the komponent and the having to recreate all globals and set all positions again?
I tried to simply rename the file from .kwgt to .komp but that was ofcourse too easy, lol.
And if there is no other way, is there a downside to start every widget with a komponent and build everything inside it, so you always have the option to create a komponent from it, if you ever want to?
If you have the two Kustom apps open that you want to transfer items from and to, you can select and copy those items in one app and then paste them in the other app. If you have globals specified that work with the items you copied, you can select and copy those seperately and paste them in the globals section of the other app.
Worked like a charm for me!
I’m a bit confused - this does allow me to place a whole small widget inside another larger widget which is what I wanted, but how do I save the smaller widget as a komponent that I can access from the opening screen under “komponents”? For that matter, how do I get komponents at all? Right now I have zero in my library, there don’t seem to be any free to download and I can’t even figure out how to create them myself. (In case it wasn’t clear, I’m new!)
Thanks -
Susanna
You add an empty komponent to one of your widgets (like you would a shape or a text, using the plus at the top right and then click create) and copy/paste or completely add from start stuff that you want in your komponent. Once inside the komponent there is an icon at the top that looks like at box with a lid on it. If you press that you can save the komponent with everything that is inside it.
