I have confirmed this bug on 2 devices.
$nc(wsig)$ returns 9 while in the editor, but drops to 0 as soon as I save and go to the home screen. $nc(wssi)$ drops from -38 to -127.

Is the phone location setting turned on?
It wouldn’t read signal strength in the edit mode if it was off.
What’s your Android version by the way?
And do you use any 3rd party launcher?
Total launcher. Tablet is running android 14, phone is running 15. Both devices do it. It does display the connected ssid, so it is reading wifi. It just won’t show signal strength.
On my phone I set it to display cell signal and wifi signal. Cell signal is correct in the widget, it is only wifi signal which drops to 0.
Well,
Let’s wait for any response from @frank in regards to this matter.
It could be a bug in the app or perhaps something else.
Because you asked about launcher, I switched back to one UI, same behavior in that launcher, so total launcher is not the culprit.
