Kustom will always rocks!
Hopefully this suggestion to be considered which might spread out the popularity of the great KWGT.
As the title tells is it possible to have such an option of a separate popup like widgets those don't rely on home screen launchers by having them as an overlay with the permission of draw over other apps or for sure you'll have a better figures to the runtime requirements.
