Possible Bug in $nc(dtypes)$

I am trying to replicate the widget from Network System Info app using KLWP. Making really great progress. However I note that when my phone shows 5G in the status bar with mobile data enabled, $nc(dtypes)$ is showing 4G. And I wonder if this is a bug?

This is a Moto XT2215-4 with Android 12 on Verizon.

This has something to do with your network not providing full 5G coverage. This is best explained in this Reddit thread.

My guess is this is exactly the case: pseudo 5G. The phone’s Radio Info page simply says both Voice and Data networks are LTE - despite the status notification saying 5G. I do see in it’s "preferred network type: (which is greyed-out) it starts with NR. In the phone’s About settings under SIM Status, it shows voice type = LTE and data type = 5G.
