Device: Pixel 9 Pro XL
OS Version: Android 15, Build# AP3A.241105.008
Launcher: Nova Launcher Prime 8.1.1
KLWP Version: 3.77b432414 w/Pro key
KLWP app is functioning correctly, does not crash. The LWP is shown once applied, yet is unresponsive to any touch events. Parallel rendering on/off is of no consequence. I’ve granted every permission to KLWP (requested or not), and went on to try Smart Launcher, then Lawnchair, both achieving the same unresponsive LWP.
My apologies. Should have noted that was my first attempt to remedy.
This feels as though it’s a hardware or OS issue impacting KLWP ability to function. Both being so recent, might not yet be a known issue.
Shoot! Too late. Got it working though it might me temporary.
Found this XDA article via this post at Kustom on Reddit. Speaks to what and why Google is doing this.
My personal conclusion is that non-google manufacturers would want their OS’s to retain wallpaper access and functionality. Therefore KLWP would not have the same restrictions as a new Google device.
My today solution:
I went to Android Beta Program and installed Android 15 QPR2 (BP11.241025.006). KLWP now appears to function appropriately. Will report back here should it not.
Updating my own post/outcome thus far:
KLWP continues to function though I’m experiencing a persistent dead zone that does not respond to touch. It’s located at the bottom where vanilla Pixel9P+Android would have its search bar using the default launcher, yet I’m using Nova Launcher. Not yet solved.
Disregard any dead zones. I realized, Nova Launcher’s dock, while empty, was still present. I switched it to overlay mode, then turned it off. KLWP is running beautifully. Let’s hope this functionality doesn’t revert with Android 16.
