I’m doing something wrong when downloading the file. Even though it shows as .kwgt, when I download it, it becomes .kwgt.zip. If I try to extract it, it creates folders. If I delete the .zip extension and try to import it into KWGT, it still says installation is impossible.

Thing is, kwgt files are actually zip files with the file extension renamed from zip to kwgt.

This means, simply renaming the downloaded file from Fine_Weather_Unlocked.kwgt.zip SHOULD work.

Welcome to this forum.

In regards to your issue, you can try one of these solutions:

SOLUTION #1 • Manual process

  1. Download the archive file (the .zip file)
  2. Rename the downloaded file, remove its .zip extension name to make it recognized as the preset file: xxxxx.kwgt.zip ➞ xxxxx.kwgt
  3. Copy/move the renamed file (the preset file) to the widgets folder, under the Kustom installation folder ( the file path is usually /Kustom/widgets )
  4. On the homescreen, add a new blank Kustom widget
  5. Tap the new blank Kustom widget on homescreen, to open the KWGT editor
  6. In KWGT editor, choose the preset file to load it up to the KWGT editor
  7. Apply/save (the :floppy_disk: icon) the loaded preset, to show it on homescreen
  8. Done!

SOLUTION #2 • Import process

  1. Download the archive file (the .zip file)
  2. On the homescreen, add a new blank Kustom widget
  3. On the homescreen, add a new blank Kustom widget
  4. Tap the new blank Kustom widget on homescreen, to open the KWGT editor
  5. In KWGT editor, tap on the Import button, to import the downloaded archive file
  6. Locate the downloaded archive file and select it to import ➞ once the import process done, the preset will be inserted into the KWGT library
  7. Choose the imported preset from the KWGT library, to load it up to the KWGT editor
  8. Apply/save (the :floppy_disk: icon) the loaded preset, to show it on homescreen
  9. Done!

Thank you for the response. Probably cause its for use on android car head unit probably kwgt is not working properly and doesn’t want to cooperate with me :laughing::laughing:. I mean i tried rename etc but nothing changed.

Hi @Excite ,

AFAIK KWGT app works on any Android devices, including car head units.

A few things to make sure:

  • Did you copy/move the renamed file to the correct Kustom installation folder?
  • Did you use the latest version of KWGT app? KWGT app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or from the official Kustom website ➞ kwgt | Kustom HQ

Yeap that is correct. Can use the pre installed widgets but this particular couldn’t. Dunno maybe it’s folder or directory..

Finally managed to make it work but for some reason its too laggy. Any suggestions?
